Microsoft has released a free download that will enable Office 2007 users to save documents in both Adobe Systems' PDF format and Microsoft's own rival format, XPS. ...

*But, of course, no add on for older versions of Word.
That would have been nice.

Yes - I attended a presentation by MS on Monday on Vista and Office 2007. I think Casey posted the info. Anyway I asked this exact question. The rep said because of litigation issues, they couldn't make it part of the application by was available separately as a free download. Good to see you found info on it.

Of course, Mac has Save as PDF as part of the OS-X. Works with all applications. Makes no sense to me.

Probobly because Adobe have better things to do than sue the x% of non-windows users that would use that feature (well software companies really)
