Just an intresting transcript (http://www.kroah.com/log/linux/ols_2006_keynote.html)of a keynote speach debukeing some myths about linux. Makes for intresting reading.
One thing I'd like to clarify though, while it supports the most devices in the world thats not the most desktop devices in the world. Windows has a large colection of webcams, Linux has a large collection of non-i386 processors.
I think there is still room for improvement in the area of printer support. This for me is a very serious concern regarding using Linux as a full time OS. Some versions, such as PClinux and Freespire, have gotten pretty good at it, but others a a real mess. I realise a large part of the problem is the lack of drivers from manufacturers. All-in-One systems can be especially difficult.

I cannot even use any version yet as I have to use a usb wireless adapter
to acces the internet, and I cannot find any version of Linux that will do that.
I certainly am not going back to dialup to experience Linux on the internet.
