I did buy that WD for the $99. Seems OK. Is it possible to partition it into 2 logical drives, and backup a HDD to one partition and another to the other partition? I'm trying to find it in the manual, but so far.......

If the drive didn't come with the software to partition it, try Acronis' Disk Director.

Thanks... ............. I don't have it, only True Image. If I need to buy software, is Acronis what you recommend? Thanks...

I've been using Disk Director - works fine. Although I have to admit that I haven't used anything else so I can't compare. It's something I don't do often enought to warrent an investigation. Bottom line is that it works.

Working is good. I may get it tomorrow. I have True Image 8.0, don't think I need 9.0. Thanks for the help.

I have used Disk Director through several versions and name changes and it's a good program. Partition Magic is now an old program with no updating and I would no longer recommend it. The other good one is Partition Commander from V-Com.

You should be able to partition and format the drive from within Windows Administrative Tools\Disk Management.

Not make 2 partitions Doug, that was the question.

Thanks. I may just buy another one. The price seems reasonable...
