I use Firefox to download files from my work email on the web. Whenever I download a file after selecting 'save as' the file download completes, but the file extension is cut off. I have to add the appropriate extension and then the file will open with the associated program. How can I configure Firefox to keep the file extension???

Where are you looking at the files? Explorer?
Do you have your Explorer settings set to SHOW FILE EXTENSIONS? Is that view set for the particular download folder?
It is possible in Explorer NOT to see file extensions unless you have enabled the view. They are there, you just don't see them.

I have the same issue on my laptop and desktop. When I visit a web portal for my work place and download a file the filename always truncates. This is a pain. I downloaded the filename, "PM Day Show with Sound.wmv" and the file downloaded from Firefox as "PM." I had to add the proper extension to the file so it could be played. Why is the filename being cut off??? I looked into the setting under options in Firefox, but didn't see any solution to this issue.
