I want to add audio to a movie I'm making using Windows Movie Maker. I believe the audio has to be in the form of a wav file. Does anyone know if I can add the audio from an mp3 file? Is there any freeware or evaluation software I can use to convert a mp3 file to a wav file?

You should be able to just add the mp3 file John. If it doesn't work, check out the website below where they have all that software and a lot of it is freeware:

btw, have you found this site yet? It's a windows movie maker help site.

photolady, you are correct. Right after I posted the topic I was able to simply use an mp3 file for background music. Thanks.

You're welcome John, and right after I posted that even knowing the answer, I went to M$ and they also confirmed my answer.....it stated any music file...so I took that as any extension, whether .wav, mp3 or wma would work.
