A couple months ago, there were post on this BBS dealing with getting rid of data on a hard drive. The one suggestion that sticks in my mind was taking a drill bit and doing a job on the platters.
That solution is too drastic for me. I need to send an external hard drive back to the manufacturer via a RMA request. This drive contains my system backup information.
What's the best way to clean the drive before sending it back?
