Uninstall/re-install again and make sure it shows in Extensions.

Fred, McAfee Site Advisor plugin for Firefox. Sits in your browser tray, shows sites that have potential adware/ malware. Very handy when doing searches as it marks the sites in yellow and red warnings so you can avoid them.
Runs off signature files that are updated.
If you use Firefox, Site Advisor is highly recommended.

McAfee's SiteAdvisor also works very well for IE. They evaluate a huge number of sites on the web for threats like unsolicited email, spyware downloads, etc to give the user of preview before entering the site.

About SiteAdvisor

SiteAdvisor was founded in April 2005 by a group of MIT engineers who wanted to make the Web safer for their family and friends. Having spent one too many holiday breaks trying to clean a mess of spam, adware, and spyware from our families' computers, we decided to take action.
We realized there was a gaping hole in existing Web security products. While traditional security companies had gotten relatively good at addressing technical threats like viruses, they were failing to prevent a new breed of "social engineering" tricks like spyware infections, identity theft scams, and sites which send excessive e-mail.

To address this challenge, we built a system of automated testers which continually patrol the Web to browse sites, download files, and enter information on sign-up forms. We document all these results and supplement them with feedback from our users, comments from Web site owners, and analysis from our own employees.

Our easy to use software for Internet Explorer and Firefox summarizes our safety results into intuitive red, yellow and green ratings to help Web users stay safe as they search, browse and transact online. Our goal is to pioneer a new approach to Web safety and make the Internet safer for everyone.

I presume that you are missing the SiteAdvisor button in both browsers and do not get a site rating when you go to another site.

Did you uninstall / reinstall both versions?

Did you download both from the links above?

Did you notice any unusual messages, popups or processing when you reinstalled?

If you do a Google search, do you get site ratings next to each entry?

I downloaded SiteAdvisor awhile back. It works great on IE but I mostly use MSN and it doesn't show up on MSN. Is there a way to get it to work on MSN?

I would doubt it as Msn isn't a real browser...like the asol "browser" it is IE with a wrapper (hard to believe) of even more "bloatware". I always uninstall msn browser on my systems as I do Windows Messenger.

Thanks Rich, I was just hoping. We've been thru the MSN discussion before. I use it out of habit and familiarity. I do little surfing. Mostly email so the bloat is not a problem for me. Thanks for the reply.
