This time MCafee is attacking Microsoft (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/10/02/mcafee_disses_ms/) at the EC!

Another poor quality prodcut is asking for kernal access, apprently hackers can get in and McAfee wants to go in after them.

With luck this will damage the reputation of two bad products, Windows & McAfee.

In addition encryption technology and handwriting recognition are under question. So if you want anything included with your OS, grab Linux. those guys can bundle anythign and its not anti-competative for one reason $0.

Actually have you seen some of the stuff that they bundle? OpenSUSE has virtuliseaton software with theirs.

I think the idea is called 'internet bewrockracy': create a flawed system; assemble people to create programs that monitor, clean, patch, and protect that system; assemble people on the Internet to explain, adjust, advise and bicker; create a new flawed system again, repeat, gathering more people and expand onwards.

Tortanick, thank for that link, it will be interesting to see where this leads then.
