I just posted asking for Malware support, but it took 3-4 postes to post the log.

I'm not sure if this will work to solve the long
message issue but try it.
1.) Insert your log file text into the message window as you normaly do.
2.) Use mouse to highlight the log file text.
3.) Click the "#" Icon to wrap code tags... [C O D E ] [/ C O D E]
around your text.
You should get scrolling window within your
message that contains the entire log file.
Try it here in this thread so we can see if it
works as described above.

Nope dosnt work I get the message;
The text that you have entered is too long (17721 characters). Please shorten it to 10000 characters long.

Yes, I just tried it too and I see what you mean.
What I've seen in other forums is that they designate one forum
for posting Hijackthis log files. Perhaps they could do that here
and set the one forum's properties such that long posts can be
accepted.

We have increased the maximum post size in the Virus / Spyware / Firewalls forum to address the problem you had with your HJT log.

I'm sorry but think about it, there is an obvious reason we cannot tell you in a public forum.

Rich, I may not always be good at recognising the obvious, but why would this be kept a secret? If you go over the limit, it will tell you the maximum allowed, anyway; as with:
The text that you have entered is too long (17721 characters). Please shorten it to 10000 characters long.
Is it too much of a stretch to assume a similar message will appear in the Malware Forum?

The only ones who would gain by the knowledge of the size would be spamers and hackers.

It appears that I spoke too soon. I just ran a quick test and noticed that the post size limit is still 10000.  Oops, our bad.
We decided to increase the maximum post size by fifty percent to accommodate larger logs but apparently our change did not take. I'll get back to you when the change is in place.

As they say: "Do the math". We're hoping that spammers have not mastered basic arithmetic. :)

As for keeping it a secret, which it is not now, would not hinder anyone from a few quick checks to see what the limits are.
I hope it was more tongue and cheek for Rich:
"If I tell you, I'd have to kill you."
But then with Rich, one never knows what lurks in his expanding mind.:)
