Acronis True Image & changed files

Does anyone know how Acronis handles changed files? If I have a file, say a particular spreadsheet, that I want to be able to 'go back' to see how it looked maybe a month or so ago, is this possible in Acronis TI? Or does it just write over files of the same name when you do an incremental or differential backup?

Tony it is my understanding that the original is the original and the incremental is ony the changes so that the original is untouched.
I cannot prove that because I never do incrementals. I make a clean file every week.
