firefox email pasting method?

Started using FF this morning but when I right-click to copy something and I try to paste it in an email, the paste option is not there, what gives?

Can you paste the copied text in a text editor like Notepad? When copying the text, highlight it and press Ctrl+C on your keyboard. Then open your email message and press Ctrl+V to paste it.

To reiterate what Ray said, I have had success highlighting text and using Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V when the paste command on a pull down menu is grayed out.
