I currently have an Epson R300 Photo Printer and love it. The printer is about two years old. I just heard an advertisement for Epson's new line of Hi-Definition printers. Does anyone know about reviews on this new product line and if they are worth upgrading to???

First thanks for posting the question. I hadn't seen the ad and at present I'm in the market for a new and better Epson (only printers I have ever bought). So, on reading this post, I hopped over to Epson to check them out. I was surprised by the prices, much lower than I was thinking when I first read your post. Features look nice too, so far they have three of these printers for sale a R260, a R380 and a RX580 this one is, an all in one. Did you read about them on Epson's website? If not the link is below:

I'm still searching for other reviews but the R380 sure caught my eye and I'll be considering this one for my next purchase, mid January. At $199 that sure beats the price of the last printer they are offering, the R1800 and R2400. These two are wide format. I didn't look to see if any the newest ones are, if they're not, then I won't buy one of them. I need a printer that prints over 8x10 in size.

I only researched the HD Printers from Epson for a while and abandoned interest in buying one. The cost is fine and performance is acceptable, but I noticed the resolution of the print is the same as my few year old Epson R300 Printer. I'll stay with my R300 for now.

Sorry John, I just noticed the date on this first post. :D I had done a "new posts" and this was one of them. I guess new posts was from the last time I visited here and didn't think that had been that long ago. I won't be buying one either because none of them come in the wide format I need.

Well, the only thing that impressed me was the price was lower than I expected on a new printer. Other than that, nothing. Epson proposes the photos will last 200 years in storage, but heck, I doubt be around in 30 years, so I don't need that either. ;)
