KH Management,
Once you impliment the "Tech" and "Non-Tech" users here on KH Forums,
it occurred to me that the HUMOR Forum would be off limits to "Tech"
type users. Therefore, I'm suggesting that you create a new Forum called
Tech Humor so we have a place to post funny stories or links to
websites or videos that are technical in nature.
Edit: Correction. It's not "Tech" and "Non-Tech", it's just
that some users would be classified as "Tech Only".

Whats happening with Tech and Non-Tech?
Are you just talking about the fact that more people who know nothing about computers will turn up for help or something diffrent?

You will get the choice whether you see the other bits of KH. non techie ..... so they will need their own humour forum.. for tech related humour:hail:.. complicated

I've been told that soon, the members here will be able to choose to
be classified as "tech only". As "tech only" all the Forums that are
non-technical would be filtered out. Forums about "KH Forums" would
not be filtered out.
It's a great solution because it satisfies the member who is here just
for the computer and technical info while allowing the non-technical
forums to continue as they are now. It mainly affects people who
come in regularly and use the New Posts feature.

In that case I'm going to say thats no reason to have a tech humour forum. if you're intrested in humour you simply shouldn't say tech only.
On the other hand giving a private forum just for tech humour would be nice becasue its easier to find. But in all reality tech only should filter that too.

Humour is humour whether it is political technical or just general....
It would be sad to see KH split in two... and PeteF i would miss your posts( in humour )
I think you are missing the whole point of forums.. they become a community that crosses the vast expanses of this globe.
I know that really deep down inside all of the members of KH lurks a fun let your hair down side,, and i want to see that develop and grow...
KH should remain a complete forum.. you take the non tech with the tech
but we have been here before
Come on where is the community spirit here people.... i look on all of you as "friends "and i know when i have had a bad day for whatever reason someone here will be around with a lighthearted comment
I really enjoy the TECH side i am learning new things each and every day
but this is just another rambling post that you probably don't want to hear
so sorry about that

Tortanick,
Follow the logic here. A user has a funny tech realted story to
post. He looks at the Forums and sees the "Non-Tech Topics"
group and the "Humor Forum" listed in that group. Being mindful
of posting in proper forums, he realizes his post does not fit that
category becasue it's NOT a Non-Tech Topic. He then keeps
looking and the only forum that seems appropriate is the
"Specialized Forums" group, "Other Topics Forum"
When I realized this was the case, it made sense to have a
"Tech Humor Forum". I see enough tech realted humorous
posts to justify having a separate category. It just seems
logical to me.
Another thing I've come to realize is that having all these
individual forums is more about enticing new posts and
marketing the Forums than about having things nicely
organized. I don't think it really matters that much if a
post is made in the wrong forum. What matters most is
having many forums so people are enticed to post by
seeing a forum that triggers their interest. Having many
forums also goes a long way to attracting new members.
If people see a list of Forums that have topics of interest,
they are more likely to come back.
Imagine having a Forum that only has two categories;
1.) Computer, Tech Suport
2.) Humor, News, Polictics
It has very little power to draw in new members compared
to a system that has many categories. Of course you can go
too far and have so many categories that it overwhelms
people. The trick is finding the optimum number of forums.
One solution is to monitor the quantity of posts on any given
category and ensure you have a separate forum for those
posts.
