I haven't quite figured it out yet but it happened twice now. A few days ago I updated to FF 2.0 after doing IE7 and I could not get any url to open from OE where FF is my default browser. Nothing I could do made it work right so I installed new 2.0 FF and all was well.
Today same thing only upgrade to FF 2.0 did not do the trick. I changed default browser to Sea Monkey which then worked and then back to FF 2.0 which is working fine now. Has to be a connection!
Incidentally ran a few speed tests and new FF is a bit faster than 1.07.
