when i walk away from computer for a few minutes or when i'm downloading anything that takes more then a few minutes my monitor goes into sleep mode and wont wake up. not even when i play with the mouse...when i run a maintence wizzard it does the same. i have to continuously play with the mouse to stop it from doing this...
when this happens i have to manually reboot and i lose any information that i was downloading....is there a setting somewhere that i can expand the time on it doing this?
also i am not running a screen saver....should i be? is that my problem? anyone who can help i would appreciate it..thx

I think you can fix this by right-clicking your desktop, choose properties, choose screensaver, and then adjust your power settings from a link on there. but im not 100% sure
Windows ME info is like gold dust

All versions of Windows have had problems with screen savers and power saving settings.
If you have a screen saver enabled, do not set power to turn off monitor
If you have power set to turn off monitor (time), do not use a screen saver
Any of the hibernate or sleep functions can be flakey... don't use them

Doug's advice worked for me some time ago. No screen
saver, no hibernate, no standby, no problems. :)
