View Full Version : Lina's Re-registration

As Mommalina I'm still having a problem being
involuntarily logged out and losing whatever I type into
the text box (some long posts at times!). So I'm going
to try a few posts as Mommalina1....without the
Avatar.:)

Tony (Kelly) had this same problem a long while back,
and re-registering as Kelly solved the problem for him.

Wish me luck.

If this works perhaps someone can mod you back to you're old name?

They could add the Mod Avatar, but I have a more pressing
desire. Re-registration would not accept the same email
address. I gave a web mail address. That web mail box does
not alert me like Outlook Express does when a new email
arrives. PITA to keep checking the web mail to see if KH
has a new user, if I have a PM, etc. .. :boink:

Lina - I don't know what web mail you're using, but if you have a gmail account, you can link it up with Outlook Express so you won't have to go to the web to check you mail. Just all it as another account to your present OE account(s).

Maybe later if this works out. Too much on my plate to mess
with that right now, Tony. But thanks for suggestion. .. :)
Will wait to see if this works out. It may not.

I was just involuntarily logged out when I left a post by Terry
by clicking on an url he posted. When I came back, I was
logged out.:frown:

I was just replying to one of Dan's post. When I clicked
QUOTE at the bottom of his post, I was involuntarily
logged out. :frusty: .. :frusty:

Update:

I was typing the Summary for the Wednesday Night Computer Help
Desk; and, just in case I was involuntarily logged out, I cut-n-pasted
my working draft to Word Pad. When I came back, I was logged out
and lost everything that was in the text box.

At least with my old registration, most of the time when involuntarily
logged out, I could ignore signing in again and click back until I
found my draft, in tact.

After my previous post in this thread, I left computer for
about an hour (fridge tech arrived) with the KH forum
open. When I returned and tried to go back to the
Feedback forum to start on the Wednesday night summary
again, I was involuntarily logged out again.

Say it ain't me, puleeeze!:)

Am going to start on the summary again. See ya.

have you checked your cookie settings Lina are you running a firewall like Zone Alarm Pro or Norton Firewall? If you have any s/w firewall set at its max security level all cookies will be blocked.

Only have Windows firewall.

Don't know what my cookie settings should be in Firefox. Think
I have default for FF 2.0.

Question: If you are logged in to KH and leave for
a while, do you get involuntarily logged out?

My monitor is set to go off after 20 minutes of inactivity, so I know I was away from the computer for less than 20 minutes. When I returned, I clicked New Posts and was involuntarily logged out.

This new registration seems to be no improvement over the old, maybe worse. Another day of this, and I will go back to using Mommalina.

Try changing your monitor never to go off Lina

I don't see the connection. Involuntary log-outs are restricted
to the KH forum. Other forums and web sites don't log me out no
matter how long I'm away from the computer and whether or not
the monitor shuts off automatically.

But thanks for the input, BM. :)
