What are these used for (PCI stuff)

I know what a PCI slot is. What is a PCI Exp X 16, and a PCI Exp X1 used forI have seen pics of MB's that have a very short header and called a PCI Exp X 1. What do you do with these?

Still in the learning mode. About the time I get comfortable with this, I'll flame out.

Pci-Xpress 16 is the new replacement for Agp video slot and it is an exciting change and step up. The graphics when I first tried one, really shocked me!
Pci-x 1 and 2 are replacements for pci slots and you will see more and more o0f these as more and more cards become available for them.
