I need to install ME on a customer computer. The Product Key is stamped on the side, but I don't have the media. I've searched MS web site to see if I could download a CD image, but haven't found one.

Any one know where I can download a W-ME image?

I've downloaded numerous OS images from ************. All of which came up clean on a malware scan. You'll need a torrent client. I use Bitlord (http://www.bitlord.com/).

Isn't this illegal?

I couldn't care less if it's illegal. The way I see it, if a customer has purchased an OS, they have the right to obtain a copy of it provided they use their purchased product key.

Besides, I really don't think the Microsoft lawyers care if you download a copy of an OS that you already purchased (especially one that they don't even support any longer).

I wasn't questioning your ethics Seth, I just thought being this is a public forum, should we be giving out torrent sites. eh?

On the site I moderate, you'd have had this post shutdown and removed from public view and possible ban from forum.

No worries PL. I never thought you were questioning my ethics.

There are multiple versions of each OS CD that Microsoft sends out, Retail, OEM, Upgrade, MSDN, Educational, Corporate, etc.. If your COA is on the side of your machine and I assume your machine shipped with Me, then it is most likely an OEM copy so you need OEM media. If you contact Microsoft they should be able to provide you with media (not sure if they still do for OS's that are no longer supported though). Although there are web sites you can download this media from, we cannot recommend any specific sites for obvious reasons. With a little bit of googling though I am sure you can find the media if Microsoft cannot provide it.
