I have the higher-priced Verizon DSL (3.0), and wonder if I'm
getting the speed I should.
Here's what http://infospeed.verizon.net/ reports:
2M
2640.3Kbits
330KBytes
From www.bandwidth.com I get:
2,743.15 /kbps download speed
713.08 / kbps upload speed
Thanks.

Because of my distance from the CO, I had doubts as to
whether or not my 3.0 was really faster than the 768.
Thanks for the reassurance, Rich. ..

That's fair Jack...if you are using IE better yet. Try Firefox and I would bet you will see 3000kbps.

Thanks, Rich.... I'll give it a shot once I can get both of the other computers on my network connecting to the internet at the right (acceptable) speeds. It's strange... all are in the same workgroup, Outlook mail works fine; if I connect to Google on the other two computers it connects almost instantaneously but if I try to connect to www.msnbc.com (http://www.msnbc.com) it'll take the page almost 5 minutes or more to load up. <shrug> This all started after I got rid of that Malware/spyware. Yes, I'm using XP Pro w/sp2 on all three units with all updates. :)
