questions about paltalk...

i opened my profile in paltalk so that i could attend wed. night's meeting here...:)

my question is:::

it says that i need a picture in order to post or im in there...do i have to download a picture in order to participate in the meeting???:confused:

what exactly do i have to do besides enter my profile to attend the meeting for this forum???:confused:

can you also explain what the steps will be that i have to take to enter the chatroom please???:confused:

I guess I have been using PalTalk for so long that I never remember a pic option - so I don't have one.

On Wednesday night you will look for Computer Tech menu and under there are "groups" - we are listed at KickenHardware.

No, you don't need a mic to participate.
You can type into the room and listen on the speakers.

No, you don't absolutely need speakers either because you
can type and others can type back but you do miss a lot
of what goes on with no speakers.

To my knowledge, a photo is not required to use Paltalk
in general, and certainly not a requirement for the KH
room.

and computer-challenged members and visitors.

To participate, download and install PalTalk software--> www.paltalk.com
Click the CHAT ROOMS tab, click ROOMS icon.
In the Rooms List click "Computers and Tech" category, click "Computer Help/Advice" subcategory,
scroll down the list, click "Wednesday Night KH Computer HelpDesk" (Note: The room won't be listed until 9PM).
The chat window will open, and you'll be in the room (you can now add KH to FAVORITES).

To talk, press and hold CTRL key- release CTRL key when you're done talking.

IMPORTANT: If someone is talking (a mic icon will be next to someone's name), please wait until they're done speaking before you hit CTRL key to talk, OR, click the "REQ TALK" button (raised hand) to request speaking rights, and a @moderator will guide you in, OR, you can type text in the text window at any time, just like other instant messaging programs.
[If your mic or speakers don't work, open Sound Properties (double-click speaker icon in Taskbar System Tray) to make sure they are selected/checked and sliders are set midway.]

i have written everything down to be sure i get in there...:)

my main question was if i would be able to type in chat without a picture because when you go to enter your profile it states that you can not instant message unless you have a picture uploaded...:frown:

for a minute i thought i was going to have to learn my paint program again to change a bmp. into a jpg. ......:eek:

thank you all for the information because the paltalk profile is kind of misleading if you get what i mean...;)
