ZA for Windows 98

Does anyone know if there is a free ZoneAlarm download for W98SE>

I tried to transfer my ZA EXE file to my daughters pc but a message said its not compatable with 98.

I believe Diane had the same problem and was recomended kerio firewall (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download738.html) but im not sure where she got in from

you can also try Sygate 5.6 (or 5.5) which is officially defunct, (search the web), but it still the best firewall, especially for 9x/ME.

ZA v4.5 is compatable with 98 i believe
just remember to turn off automatic updating after installation.
i will have a hunt for a link

Here (http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/free/information/znalm/zaReleaseHistory.html) is their release history. I know that 6.5.x doesn't support 98, but you could try 6.1.

I recommend trying either ZA v5.5 or ZA v6.0

I would recommend going higher than version 2.6, but would go for something in the 4.5 to 6.1 range.

What jtdoom said...very lightweight and works like a champ. ZA was fine a couple years ago but, IMO, got a bit chubby to run on machines with less than 128Mb memory.
