When I use Windows Explorer, I have a strong preference for the Detail View; other views are beyond annoying. It appears that the default view on most computers is Tiles. I have tried unsuccessfully to find a way to reset the view on all folders to Detail (as opposed to setting each one when it is opened).
In Folder Options | View, there is a section on the top for Folder Views. It says: You can apply the view (such as Details or Tiles) that you are using for this folder to all folders. There is a button below it for 'Apply to All Folders' which is grayed out. A 'Reset All Folders' button is available (not grayed). This seems like the logical place to perform my desired reset but the button is not active.
In the Advanced Settings of Folder Options, I have checked 'Remember Each Folder's View Settings' to retain manually set views.
It seems like there is something simple that I missing and it is driving me nuts.
TIA
Terry
