To be fair this isn't Vista's fault, its useing a valid security method, just makes it sensitive to bad ram.

That said its not the most effective defence, what happens is that an attacker has gained enough control over the program to inject his code, but with ASLR he'll just (probobly) put it some random place in the program and crash it. A real defence would stop the attacker ever injecting code.
