How do you get the IE icon to show on the desktop? You can create a shortcut on the desktop, but that's not the same. Looking to get the IE icon on the desktop without the little shortcut arrow.
You can right click My Computer and My Documents to show them on the Desktop, but I don't see where you can do this with IE.

How do you get the IE icon to show on the desktop?
Control Panel | Display | Desktop
Click on the Customize button
The General tab has options to display My Computer, My Documents, My Network Places and Internet Explorer. Check the ones that you want.

Correct - since I posted the original question, I found these options right where you mentioned. Only problem is that IE still won't show on the Desktop, even with it checked. My Computer and My Documents work OK from this window, but not IE. Interesting. I'm just going to make a shortcut.
thanks

Might it need a restart to get to the Desktop?
Trying clicking on Restore Default right below the options

Copy iexplore.exe from Program Files and paste it to the desktop.

Do as Seth suggested and then download tweakui for options to get rid of shortcut arrows on desktop.

I resolved it by going to Add/Remove programs, Windows components, removing IE and then bring it back in.
