Windows Vista will be available for users next Tuesday (1/30) but it does appear like there will be a frenzy like there was for Windows XP.
I just received a flyer from Staples offering Windows Vista Home Premium upgrade for $159.99 with a free 1 G USB flash drive and free in-store installation and a software bundle with "$700 savings".
Staples Sale Circular (http://staples.shoplocal.com/staples/Default.aspx?action=browsepagesingle&storeid=2278587&rapid=364799&pagenumber=1&promotioncode=staples-070126&)
I wonder if they are giving free troubleshooting with their free in-store installation?

I wonder how many hardware upgrades are going to be required
Or how many cleanings are going to be required :tape2:
Or how many whacked systems are going to be going out the door with no data, programs, emails, address books, or favorites being restored :mullet:

All together now:
Every :lalala:morning
Every evening
Ain't we got fun
Not much money
Oh but honey
Ain't We Got Fun
The 'puter's unpaid for
We haven't a clue
But smiles were made dear
For people like us
I wonder how many hardware upgrades are going to be required
Or how many cleanings are going to be required :tape2:
Or how many whacked systems are going to be going out the door with no data, programs, emails, address books, or favorites being restored :mullet:

WOW, Microsoft Vista will be less bugridden than Microsoft XP which was less bugridden than Windows ME which was less less bugridden than Windows 2000 which was less less bugridden than Windows 98 which was less less bugridden than Windows 95 which was less bugridden than Windows 3.1 which was less less bugridden than Windows 3.0..................:)
Ok, maybe ME wasn't less bugridden than 2K.;)

Is there a System Restore feature in Vista? If so, is it improved or different than the version provided on Windows XP? It seems like System Restore was a great 'concept' in practice, but it never performed in XP as intended. In fact, I tried System Restore to roll back the pc several times using XP and it mess up everything. This usually resulted in having to reformat the hard drive and reinstalling Windows. I heavily rely on True Image Ver. 10 now and the backup image of my hard drive. System Restore would be great if it works as advertised.

Is there a System Restore feature in Vista?
If there is, I just asked a related question in another thread, wondering if M$
made it a default in Vista to create a Restore Point before making changes.
