Intel is really cranking it up with introduction of the new Penryn chips! These are to be available in the second quarter of '07. I have my ATX case, dvd drive, floppy drive and OS already purchased. I don't expect to have the $ for the mobo, cpu, RAM and video card for at least 6 weeks or more. Is it worth even considering waiting for the new Penryn chips or do you guys think they will be expensive and unproven when first released? There are so many good articles on this new chip. PCMAG.com has a good write up at the following link:

Awesome, I can't wait to see benchmarks for those CPUs! 45 nm is impressive. Intel 45 nm fun facts (http://www.intel.com/pressroom/kits/45nm/Intel%2045nm%20Fun%20Facts_FINAL.pdf). Thanks for the news. :)

I'm not sure what to recommend. When I built my computer I waited a little more than a month for a huge price drop in Pentium D Processors and then witnessed an even greater drop a few months later and the introduction of the Core 2 Duos that make my CPU look worthless. It looks like your PC is more than adequate so if you don't mind waiting, I would. Still, you don't want to keep waiting for the next thing since you'll never buy anything, but this one wait seems justifiable.
