I currently use Firefox Version 2 at work as my prefer browser. They monitor our activity and track it on IE. Our IT person contacted me and said they scanned my pc and found Firefox on it. IT doesn't want you to use Firefox because they aren't set up to track your usage. Can I install Firefox on a USB Drive and use it from the USB drive to browse the net? This would solve the whole problem and make the IT Unit happy to see it's removed from my hard drive.

I believe that a newer version of USB Flash Drive (U3) has a facility to download certain software from their site which can be executed directly from the USB drive. As I recall, most of the software did not amount to much but Firefox was available.

Check out manufacturer sites or the U3 Page (http://www.u3.com/) for details.

I found the site for the portable USB version of Firefox. It works great on a usb drive. This will work fine at work and won't be found on my hard drive. Perfect!
