photos wont preview

More problems today .. when i right click on a photo and choose preview my pc freezes .. i have to start task manager and kill explorer exe and run a new one .. Why me lol ??????

could be a problem with an item on the context menu. Have you installed any new programs lately which added an item to the context menu?

I'm wondering if it is "The Revenge of IE7". You haven't installed any new software but it sounds like you have uninstalled an existing one.

I have spent all day trying to fix it
tried restoring file defaults and scans galore so its not caused by spyware

Does my memory serve me that this pc was loaded with spyware and other issues a while back, and you never reformatted which we all agreed you needed to? If so the problems will continue to show up everywhere in different ways until you finally bite the bullet. If wrong, then I have been on too many forums trying to stretch my poor memory too far!

Ah ha.

My suspicion is that if you resolve your Internet Explorer problem(s), you will fix the photo preview. I think the your inability to preview photos is a symptom.

Well i had an idea .. if IE is the cause of my problems then uninstalling ie7 should revert ie6 back to its former self .. which it has .. however the problem still exists ..andd now its getting personal

What now ???????
tried downloading infanview no good tried restoring all file associations with various fixes from Kellys korner
Its not a big problem just one of those annoying ones

Do the photos preview in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer?

Right click on a photo, and try opening it in something else, eg. Photo Editor, or Paint. Does the pix show fine in these programs?

Yes it is windows picture and fax viewer
i can open them but not preview it just hangs and tried paint and photo editors

Still cant preview or double click to open pictures with windows viewer but will open with paint
