Good Morning All, yes there were some interesting discussion points and momma as usual was an excellent host.

Re the One Computer Per Child exercise, one of the interesting things about the child armies in third world countries, (often these children are "grabbed") is that these children are given arms and obey orders implicitly, they have little understanding of what they are actually doing and cannot get out of their predicament.
Naturally they receive no scholastic education and this means that when they get older they are a lost resource to those countries.
I suspect this OCPC idea will allow this resource to gain relative learning in areas not previously available apart from the lucky children not taken.
If we consider the many hundreds of thousands of young people in this situation the idea has much more incredible potential.

When you have an idea of the scope of this problem and the incredible potential that some degree of educational tools such as this project, it is quite mind-boggling as to what effect it may generate.

Certainly food for thought if properly organised with online programs.

Cheers, Lawrence.
