When visiting a website, I always thought that the small icon immediately to the left of the URL (i.e. http://www....) was just another way to advertise a website if you wanted to make the effort.

In the Sunday Inquirer business section there is a Q&A about computer problem solving. Last Sunday I found the real use of this icon. You can drag the icon onto your desktop and create a shortcut to a frequently visited website. While I knew of other ways to do this, none were as simple and easy!

Someone posted that tip here earlier, but it's well worth repeating! Thanks!

The LAST thing I would ever want is a ton of shortcut icons on my desktop!
That's what bookmarks are for!

And the bookmarks' toolbar or quick links. Just drag the address down to the toolbar below. You do not need to drag the icon.
