I have been getting a message saying I have more than 500 fonts and should remove some. 1)How many is too many? 2)How do you decide which ones to remove? 3)What's the easiest (other than one by one) to remove them?

Thanks in advance.

When do you get this error June .. when you are using Works program
if so i found this

you should ignore the message. While Works is compatible with Windows
XP, it is designed for Windows 9.X/ME. What you are seeing is a error
message related to the limitations of those versions of Windows.

"Reduce the number of fonts or the display may be incorrect." Are you
having any problems with the display of Works on Windows XP?
General rule:
If it is not broke, do not fix it.

You can go into Control Panel and select Fonts. If you have consecutive fonts, that you want to delete, you can use the Shift and cursor keys. If not consecutive, use the Ctrl and cursor keys. When completed, hit the delete key. You might want to backup the fonts folder, which is found in the Windows folder on your C drive. Interestingly, running XP I have over 1,000 fonts. Sure, while it takes a little longer for some programs to load, I can live with this for the convenience of creativity selecting a font. A recently purchased some fonts that came with a program to temporarily loads a font and remains loaded until the application, like Word, is closed. The negative is that the next time you loaded the document, the font is unavailable. When the document is finalized, creating a PDF solves this problem.

Yes, BM, it is when I use works. I will ignore the message. And thanks Joe for your tutorial and comments.
