Just formatted the old desktop and putting the new version of Ubuntu on it.

Leaving the laptop on XP thought for school work ect.

Im as far as the kernel loading and i have to say its the sex lol
About 10mins before this I was attempting to install Slackware 11 but gave up, this it a walk in the park lol As I say this it has just froze...oh no its going again lol

Well wish me luck lol

Bad start lol

Installed when booting get the message no active partition found.

Right having problems here.
I have tried to install twice now both times have got the message no active partition found.
It seems the drive is not booting up, not even if I try using the install cd to boot up the drive.

Pi mate where are you????

Zomg looks like I may be waiting to load this build. The Bittorrent for the DVD is telling me Nine days to download. LOL

Well this isnt going well, after playing with the bootloader I am now getting the message no operating system...hummmm

The Ubuntu partitioner is crap, download partition logic to make the partitions then just format and install with ubuntu.

I never understood what the ubuntu guys were thinking with that "easy" partitioner. Debian has it sorted with their LVM, RAID, and encrypted partition support in the installer.

The ubuntu partitioner dosnt set the partitions as active.
Its useless lol
