Could some one recommend me some good Linux software that I can't live with out?

I use Amarok and the last.fm software for music and Firefox/Iceweasel for internet, then Open office for Office.
But I have no favs apps for anything else yet, I need FTP and editing software for XML PHP ect

And is there anything like Ccleaner, I like to delete cookies everyday but like to keep them for the sites I use. What apps are available to do this?

Thanks Eddie :)

Cookies: set firefox to delete them when you close firefox, then install the cookie button extension to easily let you assign greater permissions to a site.

FTP: built in by default, there is a ftp command line program, called ftp, and many file browsers have their built in FTP access routines. for commonly used FTP servers try CurlFtpFS, (http://curlftpfs.sourceforge.net/) its in the debain repositories (so probably ubuntu universe) but I can't say if Mandrivia has it in their repositories.

XML & PHP: any Linux text editor should syntax highlight those, I use Kwrite for python myself. I'm sure there are some more specialised editors but I can't name them.

Software I cannot live without:

Battle for Wesnoth, a very nice, simple Open Source turn based strategy game

VLC for multimedia. Just wish it could play real player.

bash, my trusty command line.
