Good Afternoon All, well the amazing Puppy Live System 2.16 final was released on the 17 th of May, Anyone trying it might (as soon as it boots) change the desktop image with the Menu > Desktop > Puppy Background Desktop Image program and select something a little more exciting!!! I am surprised they used a plain screen as a default desktop!!

This system is a free 90 meg ISO D/L and is extremely friendly to wireless using it's wizards.

Anyone trying it might comment on the included burning programs, especially burning CD's on the fly between two drives.

All in all it is a pretty good addition and reflects a lot of progressive ingenuity in the program selection and it's overall operation.

It is available from several mirrors, try googling "Puppy Linux" to locate them.

This program runs live or can be loaded to a hard drive or flashdrive or flashcard or Zip Drive or a piece of old wood!! It has all the wizards needed once the system is booted as a live CD, all the tools to prepare and drive partitioning are in the running program.
Any person with a slight interest in Linux would find this system very simple and user friendly and can be run without affecting a current running different operating system machine, just D/L the ISO program, burn it to a CD with an ISO burning program and it creates a bootable CD. Boot your machine on this CD and it will ask 2 questions, keyboard type and screen size, then you are away.
Wizards are included for all config purposes and there is a Wizard-Wizard to select the wizard you may wish to use for what ever config needed.

Certainly a hard system to beat for operating speed, overall versatility and user friendliness.

Although the burn programs in it are pretty comprehensive it is unable to burn CD to CD on the fly which is a shame.

Cheers, qldit.
