Cheeky i know but HELP ME --SOLVED--

Scenario

one pc is German windows 98 no disc handy
boots up to safe mode every time
tried everything i can think of still no luck

uninstalled graphics card etc
scandisk defrag reg back up its not having anyo of it
anything else i can try
before i send telepathoic mesages down the phone lines and blow it up

First clear msconfig's startup of needless entries. If that doesn't work, then run the command scanreg /fix.

You can run the command from Start>Run, but it's better to do this from a DOS environment. So shut down to DOS for the command, or boot using a 98 boot floppy to access dos.

Done that Seth as well
all apart from the boot disc no floppy drive only cds

I would try these in this order:

1) Get to the F8 boot menu and choose Normal Startup.

2) Run a scanreg /restore

3) Remove any needless devices and test the boot (especially usb devices).

4) Get hold of a 98 cd and run an over the top install.

It's right where the link says. Use explorer or search for it. It may be hidden, but there are search and folder options to view hidden files.

Well shes gone to bed lol .. this has been going on for 3 days now and i wish the bloody thing would blow up
