Re: adding a graphic element to an html document
Code:
<html> <head> <title><H1>Scrabbleplayer</h1></title> </head> <body><H1>Scrabbleplayer</h1> I enjoy playing scrabble. It is a fun game to play. People from around the world play scrabble as in contest and it is also educational for all ages. Scrabble is fun and enjoyable, i love to win, but it is aso okay when i lose. <H2>Here are examples of a group players who played the game</H2> <p> 1. secret- points 134<br> 2. moma - points 132<br> 3. truth - points 99<br> 4. hea - points 98<br> </p> <img src="moma.jpg"></img> </body> </html> Example: MyHTML (directory-any name you choose) - page1.html - moma.jpg - (other pages and graphic files) Let us know how this works for you.

Re: adding a graphic element to an html document
Hi friends,
We have been trying to do this to the point where we need to stop and maybe advance in another direction. We are going to take a break and come back when we feel more confident. Thanks, Johl and Schnahz

Re: adding a graphic element to an html document
Must be making a simple basic mistake somewhere.
I copied YOUR html code from this thread (<html> thru </html>) and pasted into notepad. Saved notepad to my desktop naming it "test.html" (only change was scr to src). Then copied one of my jpg photos, pasted to my desktop and changed name to "moma.jpg". Opened test.html with browser and displayed page with your text and my photo. Worked with FireFox and IE. Copied "test.html" AND "moma.jpg" and pasted in several directories/folders in my documents and works equally well from any of those folders. Good Luck! |

Re: adding a graphic element to an html document
good morning everyone
i am so delighted. i did it! i am so happy with myself, thanks to everyone who helped us in figuring out how to insert graphics into the html document. it was a long process with lots of frustrations and giving ups. yesterday i decided to take a free html course online. i got tired of hitting a blank wall. I went to about.com and came across jennifer kyrnin the guide who teaches you several courses and i chose xhtml it is a 10week xhtml101-1 courses, i was checking out the different programs given and one was how to insert graphics in an html. i followed the instructions and realized the mistakes i was making when i tried to insert the graphics for my html. looking back it seemed such a hard task, and now that i know how to do the graphics, i feel like i can do more, and i am eager to continue along on another adventure in the world of image and graphics. it feels so good when you accomplish a task. i want to thank each and every one of you who have given us the opportunity to learn from the mistakes made and the help that you have given myself and schnatz. kickin is the best!! The next time we come to a wall, which will be soon, i know we can come to kickin and get help. i am overexcited! thank you so much johlucmoha/schnatz

Re: adding a graphic element to an html document
Johlucmoha: In an earlier post, I sent you to w3schools.com. Just a little history lesson for you. The "w3" stands for "world wide web". The name of the organization it represents is called the "world wide web consortium"(a.k.a W3C). The W3C is made up of individuals from major manufacturers. There main responsibility is to define the standards of the web and to define the language (and it's rules) used to access and develop the web environment.
You can "google" the "world wide web consortium" and read all about it. They also publish the languages and the rules. While studying HTML, you will read a lot on "CCS-Cascading Style Sheets". Again W3C is responsible for that. Good luck with your future education and learning all about the Web. Don't hesitate to ask if you roadblock. Sam |
