Question Best brand for flash drives?

Which brand do you consider best for flash
    drives?

I have gift certificate for Amazon and would
like to order one there; some have free
    shipping.

    Thanks.

    Lina,
If the order is over $25 and is from Amazon (you have to look carefully at every listing as they post for other sites where the terms are different).
Of all of them I have bought, I still have my Kingston flash drives running while most others have failed.

I have SanDisk - in fact I have 5 of them.

I haven't had any of them fail BUT I DO BELIEVE IN BACKUPS

    Intel P67 xtreme
    Intel i5 2500 3.3ghz
    8gb RAM
    2 SATA DL Lightscribe DVD
    WD 320gb SATA Hard drive
    Windows 7 Professional (RTM)
    Office 2010 Professional Plus
VISTA HATER BUT I SURE LOVE WINDOWS 7
    But my computer worked YESTERDAY!

    Hi Lina,

I have both Kingston and SanDisk and have never had a problem with either brand.

Question Re: Best brand for flash drives?

    Thanks for the feedback!

Which sizes are most useful to have around
    for a home user?

I'd like to get the free shipping, so if I order
more than I find I can use, I can always gift
them to my many family members, especially
    grand kids.

Personally I think the 8 Gb size is the most useful.

I have 8gb and 16gb. The 8gb is for my motorcycle mp3 player because it has that limitation (this is NOT a "usual" mp3 player - it connects into my Goldwing's CD changer that is why the limitation) and 16gb for everything else.

Lina way back last century I bought a FUJI FILM 250 MG ( don't laugh) flash drive it wss $25.00 !!!!! Use it daily to carry small documents et al. Never failed. In addition I have a 4 GIG PNY and an 8 GIG San Disk and have had then for a few years. All seem to work about the same as far as I can see but that is anecdotal not a scientific evaluation. I buy then by price only.

Most of my customers (home users) have and are satisfied with 2 GB and 4 GB flash drives.

Take a look at what you're going to use it that flash drive for. That will dictate what size drive you need.

That said, I'm with Cindy when she says most of her home users are satisified with 2 or 4 GB drives. Use an external drive for your main backup and the flash drive for the occasional file transfer to another machine or extra backup of important stuff.
