    Question problem with paltalk...

yesterday i attended the meeting on paltalk...

i initially had sound problem but i re-entered room and it fixed itself...

    *****problem*****

when i got off of paltalk i could not access the internet because my firewall would not let me...

kerio had added, while i was in paltalk, as being denied one way access of IE...it had added the denial by itself...

it never asked me for a permit or denial at any time...what the heck happened???

to access the internet i had to go into kerio f/wall and permit the access of IE both ways...

****note****...the only thing that i noticed is that when i went into paltalk it asked me for a confirmation number which i had NEVER received...i had asked for it to be resent late last night and i received it today...

i ask again...what the heck happened????????

I have been using Paltalk for 10 years and never been asked for nor mentioned to a confirmation number.
Kerio firewall was one of the most annoying firewalls I have ever used. If you are on dialup as I believe, you have no reason for firewall anyway as each time you dialup, you are at a different ip address and why slow yourself down even more. Upgrade to XP and have built in firewall.
If you must use a firewall. you will have better results with ZA, though I personally would rather have a "good stiff virus" than any of them on my systems!

like Rich said, I too have no idea what the Paltalk "confirmation #" is, nor, what, if anything, it has to do with firewall.
only thing I can think of is if you made changes to Paltalk settings, Kerio may be set to deny access to the net if changes are made to a program.

    Re: problem with paltalk...

I kinda remember having to go thru my email to find the confirmation number that PalTalk wanted. I entered that number and never had any problem with access or anything else.

So looks like a problem with the setup on your firewall.

i had to change the settings on paltalk to get sound...thats probably what set kerio off then...kerio does that but it never notified me... and that is what baffled me...

yep its probably a setting in Kerio as I mentioned.

As for Paltalk, they must have made changes to their sign-up process since we first signed-up.
